      Prohibition in Carbon County covers the Prohibition Era in Montana and more particularly Carbon County from 1916 - 1933. The 18th Amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale or possession of alcoholic beverages in the United States; although did not prohibit consumption. Carbon County and Montana had a unique role in Prohibition. Red Lodge's colorful past is part of this time period in Montana History.
